Wildflowers
were in abundance everywhere we went in Newfoundland and Labrador.
Some were familiar to me; others I had never seen before. I
found myself taking so many photos of wildflowers that I bought
a book on wildflowers of Newfoundland so I could try and identify
at least some of them when I got home. Here is my attempt.
A Variety of Wild Rose
Bunchberry
Common Hawkweed
Blue Flag Iris
Showy Lady Slipper
Spreading Dogbane
Tall Meadow-Rue
Water Avens
Purple Chokeberry
Wild Daisy
Red Clover
Thrift
Starflower
Mountain Sandwort
Harebell
Cotton Grass
Cow Parsnip (looks like
Queen Anne's Lace
on steriods)
And of course, don't forget the Lupines
they're everywhere!
