Pink Fringe

This is a pretty little man-made pond near where I work. It draws my eye every morning as I pass it during the season when those pink flowers (whatever they are) are in bloom. One morning, I got up early to get up close and personal with my camera, to try and capture a mood. I was less than satisfied with the results on paper. The pond was too brown and I didn't catch the right light. But, I started playing around in Photoshop and came up with what you see here—something that doesn't quite match the original scene, but that is compelling in a different way.
